First dive after typhoon No.14 passed

The typhoon named “Nanmadol” passed Kushimoto two days ago.
Today, we can do first dive after the typhoon passed.

The typhoon had strong power while it came Japan.
The scenery in the sea is very strong so that the ocean was stormy.

I have to research under water creature where it is.
But, I can find some creatures that we have known before typhoon effect.

First one is Garden-eel.

The Garden-eel was eating.

And sea turtle is still in Kushimoto.
She is so friendly, so we can observe her very close distance.

Last one is Blue tang that modeled for the movie “Finding Dory”.

At last dive, I can find new creature.
That is goby named Spotted prawn-goby.

There are three goby in the same point.
It seems that more and more new creatures will be seen from now on.

It will be rainy tomorrow…
I hope it doesn’t affect the transparency.

I write blog for a long time.
Because I was quarantined for a week due to COVID-19.

But now, I cured now!!

Then, the w.temp is getting warmer today.
It is 26~27 degree.

I can dive without feeling cold.

And I could see many kinds of creatures today.

We could meet many sea turtles today.

In the morning, the visibility is very good!!
When I see the surface, the sea water seems like crystal blue.

We can see so many sea turtles today.
The turtle that we met is so friendly. The sea turtle is getting closer to us.

There are many kinds of fishes in this area.

A school of Sliver-stripe round fishes is dynamic(^^)
Sometimes, Greater amberjacks are coming.

On the other hand, there are many kinds of macro creature too.
Ghost pipe fish is still the same place where I found yesterday.

Even if the water is clear, I will look for Nudibranchs.

I could find many Nudibranchs today.
The size is very tiny, so it’s better to use compact digital camera for observing them.

Don’t you think it is beautiful?
Now, the number of Nudibranchs is increasing.

The water temperature is getting warmer recently .
If you want to come to Kushimoto, Now is the best timing!!

The sea water is still clear.
So, we can see a school of fish easily.

Now, there are many greater amberjack in Kushimoto area.
If you are lucky, you can meet a hundred greater ambrjacks.

When they chase Silver-stripe round fishes, They sim so fast and attack them.
It’s so dynamic!!

But, I don’t know when they disappear. So, If you wanna see them, please come to Kushimoto as soon as possible.

And then, some rare fishes are appearing now.
Today, I can find ghost pipe fish.

When I find it, I’m so happy (^^)
I think the fish of partner is near so that this fish has eggs in her stomach .
I will try to find other one again tomorrow.

At last, there are so big frog fish.
The color is black.
So, It is hard to understand its details.

Can you understand where its eyes and mouth are?

By the way, tomorrow is weekend.

Now, Kushimoto’s sea is so beautiful.
The blue current is coming to Kushimoto area.

You can clearly see divers in the distance.

It’s so beautiful , isn’t it?
I hope the visibility will continue forever.

There are so many fishes.
It looks like Okinawa.
You can come to Kushimoto by 3 hours from Kansai airport.
Shall you come to Kushimoto?

And the other creatures is also here.
There are many boxer crab at the point of out of the ocean.

I can find 6 boxer crabs in a dive.
I guess there are more in the point.

The diving season has come and the number of guest from oversea has increased .
I hope more foreign guest know the goodness of the sea of Kushimoto.

Today, the waves is getting higher due to strong wind.
We managed to dive twice in the morning.

And, I wanna inform you news that coral was spawning yesterday evening.

Then, we can see many kind of crab.

First one is this.

The shape of this crab is very rugged.
It is good at hiding. So It’s hard to find out.

Second one is this.

The crab is called Orangutan crab.
Don’t you think it looks like orangutan ?
This crab is popular in Japan.

We are still able to see many kinds of Nudibranch.
Today, we can see Pikachu.

It looks like Pokemon Pikachu.
So, Japanese diver call it Pikachu.

In July, Guest from various countries come to our shop.
So, I can get chance to speak English.

I hope Kushimoto area become popular diving site all over the world.
Kushimoto’s sea has many kind of creatures, coral and scenic spots.

The baby of fishes are appearing .

Today, It’s rainy day today.
It feels warmer in the water than in the water.

The visibility is good. It is about 12m.
We can enjoy diving without stress.

Now, we can observe ecological behavior of many kinds of fishes.
Today, we can see Jaw-fish that protects their eggs in his mouth.

We can meet very small baby fish.

Japanese diver call it ” Tamashii”. “Tamashii” means soul in English.
I don’t know why many Japanese diver call that so.
But, I like this baby fish because it is so cute.

Japanese pigmy sea horse is living in the same place for a long time.

This situation is so beautiful.
So the diver who like to take a picture likes this.
I also like this situation.

Last, I wanna show you tiny seaslugs.

The size is about 2mm~5mm.
It is very small butI’m happy when I can find it.
If you like tiny creatures, you must like Kushimoto.

The sea of Kushimoto can be used not only for macro diving but also for diving to see the school of fish.

Immigration restrictions in Japan are becoming looser, so please come to Kushimoto when you come to Japan.

Hello.
There are heavy wind in Kushimoto today.

But, water temperature is getting warm.
Today’s w.temp is 21 degree.

As the w.temp has risen, the activity of the fish has also become active.
We can observe their eggs.

For examples, Lobster is protecting their eggs in their stomach .

Damsel spawn their eggs in a shell. And father fish protect eggs until the eggs hatch.

Recently, the number of Nudi is increasing. I can find this Nudi today.

The Nudi is rare spices. I’m so happy I can find it!!!!

If you like to take a underwater pics, I recommend you to take this situation .

The situation is unique, isn’t it?

Japanese government has announced that it will increase the number of foreign tourists accepted to 30,000.

I recommend you to wear Dry suit.
When you choose wet suit, it is better to wear hood and vest.

Water temperature is so cold, but there are many kind of macro creatures.
So, we can enjoy diving today.

I like this situation. Because it’s so beautiful.

Coz the water temperature is getting lower, the number of Nudibranch is getting increasing.

This size is about 5mm.
It’s very small. So, If I can find out, I’m so happy!!!

The Forecast said it will be rainy tomorrow.
I hope that the visibility and water temperature is getting higher.

Today, we enjoyed taking underwater pictures .

Today’s guest said that he had never seen this shrimp.

The shrimp is called “Laomenes cornutus”.
It’s rare shrimp in Kushimoto.

And he also favorites “Short-bodied pipe fish”.

There are beautiful seaweed behind this fish.

Then, I joined the group that is called ” Nudibranch lovers’ association”.
The group have five members. And the theme of this group is searching many Nudibranchs in Kushimoto area.
