We can see many kinds of underwater creatures now.

The sunny day is continuing recently.
So we can enjoy diving without stress.

The water temperature is about 23 degree.
Almost Japanese diver dive with wetsuit.

At the morning, we could see spawning behavior of wrasse.

When female wrasse spawn eggs, many male wrasse chase her.
The situation is so dynamic.

Also, we could see many painted sweetlips.
I guess they were gathering at there for spawning behavior.

We can see this scene in this term every year.

This pics is the most impressive thing for me today.

It is eggs of Bob squid.
The size is 1cm. so  it is tiny.
But we can see baby bob squid in this eggs.
It is so cute!!!

The baby bob squid is like this size.I guess it is about 5mm.

Others we can see many kinds of nudibranchs now.

If you like nudibranchs, now is the best season.

It will be sunny day tomorrow.
We will be able to enjoy diving tomorrow as well!!

It was heavy rain yesterday.

It was heavy rain yesterday….
It rained like a torrent(^^;)

The rain reduced visibility…..
But, the water temperature was still same as yesterday.
It is 21~22 degree.

We can dive with wetsuit.

There are various of shrimps in bay side area.

This shrimp is called “Hamopontnia coralicola”
It is rare one.


The situation is nice.
The shrimp is tiny. It’s hard to see it.

When I was making a safety stop, I could find baby fish.

The size is 5mm.
I’m not sure what it is. Dose anyone know what this is?
I guess it is some of pipefish.

Others there is Long nose hawkfish.

It will be rainy day tomorrow .
I hope the rain will not be heavy.

The overseas tourists came to our shop continuously.
They love macro creatures. Especially nudibranch.

I also like nudibranch, so I could enjoy diving!!
When they come to Kushimoto, I want to show them this.

It called “Pikachu Nudi”.
The color is similar to Pikachu. So, we usually call it Pikachu.

And, Today’s guest like this nudibranch the best.

When I show it to the guest, she shouted underwater haha.
The size is tiny. it is about 1mm.

You need to take a pic of this, if you want to see completely(^^;)

Others, I show many kinds of underwater creatures that lives in Kushimoto.

Painted sweetlips were gathering at the same place.
I guess they will be spawning soon.

The water temperature is still cold, but most fishes is getting active.

The neon damsel is increasing.
The color is so beautiful. So, when overseas tourists come to here, I always show them.
Because, the fish was seen in Japan only I guess.

If you search some activity in Japan, I want you to consider doing scuba diving in Kushimoto.

It was heavy rain yesterday.
So, I’m worried about sea condition today.

But, the condition is so good.
Water temperature was 23 degrees and the visibility is 12m.

After rainy day, we can sometimes see this situation.

Around surface is filled with fresh water and bottom side is filled with sea water.
When this situation is happened, we can see this scene which looks like aurora.

Today, we can also see so many silver striped round herrings.

When they go through on us, it becomes dark underwater.
It is so dynamic !!!!

The water temperature become 23 degree, so some damsel start protecting their eggs.

Other fishes start ecological behavior soon, I guess.
I’m looking forward to seeing this behavior!!!

Also, we can still see many sea slug.
They are so beautiful!!!

If you like sea slug, here is the best place for searching sea slug I guess.

Although it will be rainy day tomorrow, sea will be calm.
We will be able to enjoy diving in calm condition.

Kushimoto area was closed today.

It was heavy rain and strong wind today.
So, we cannot dive in Kushimto area today.

We changed the dive site to Sue(Kii-Oshima area).
The sea is still calm at the morning, but the condition is getting harder.

We felt surge underwater though, we can enjoy diving in a whole day at Sue area.

At first dive, we can see the situation that tiger moray took cleaning by Banded coral shrimp.

This moray is popular with people overseas.
There are many tiger moray in the sea around Kushimoto city.

And, there are so many ortmann’s spider carb.


The number of these is decreasing in our dive site recently, on the othere hands, There are so many this crab.

At second dive, we can see skeleton shrimp that has  her children on her body.

White one is baby. Skeleton shrimp usually protect her baby on her body.
It is a little bit maniac haha

Others, we could see many kinds of Anthias today.

The water temperature is getting warmer.
It is 22 degree.

I think the fish activity become more active.

Next month, we may be able to see spawning behavior of coral.
If you stay at Kushimoto in this term, I want you to see this situation.

The diving will do in the night.

It was rain today…
But the rain can also have positive effects!!

It is easier to see spawning behavior of Big-fin reef squid when it is rainy day.
We could see the spawning behavior today that’s why today is raining.

The behavior is so dynamic things!!
We want everyone to see this.

In this term, many kinds of underwater creatures lay an eggs.
For example , Anemone fish have a eggs recently.

Father Anemone fish protect his eggs until hatch out.
If you are lucky, you may be able to see the situation of hatch out in night diving.

The water temperature is getting warmer.
It was 20~21 degree. I hope water temperature  will be more higher soon.

A dolphins come near our port.
When we go to the dive point, we can see the dolphin every time.

Dolphin  sometimes came to Kushimoto , But it is rare to stay at the same place for two days.

I wish this dolphin stay at Kushimoto for a long time.

We could see many fishes today!!.

I went to diving for seeing a school of fishes and Ecological behavior of underwater creautres.

In this season, Big-fin reef squid is laying an eggs on seaweed.

The size is so big, so we can see the exciting situation in our dive site now!!!

And some Anemone fish also lay an eggs.

We can see the eggs for the first time in this year!!!
I think many Anemone fish will start laying an eggs after this time.

I want to show you this fishes the best today!!

There are so many Chicken Grunt in bayside area.
The number would be 500 I guess.
It’s so dynamic !!!! It looks like Barracuda, doesn’t it??

We can meet a school of fishes at end of the dive.

They suddenly get close to us and swam around us!!!
It is so lucky thing!!!!

The water temperature is changing day by day.
But, it is getting warmer and warmer.

Overseas tourist will come to our shop on nextweek.
I try to search some underwater creatures that make them happy.

It was heavy rain yesterday.
It makes the visibility down.

The visibility is 5~8m today, but there are still many fishes.
Especially , I was surprised that the water temperature was changing completely today.

The lowest water temperature is 17 degree, unless around the surface water temperature is 21 degree.
What’s happened ?!?!

Many fishes was also surprised I guess.
Some fishes were laying an eggs but another one don’t move at all at the bottom.

In this season, many fish originally lay an eggs and protect their eggs.
But, the number of fish that lay or protect eggs in this year.

On the other hands, we can see various of sea slug now.
Now water temperature makes us to see easily as usual .

I could find rare sea slug today.
4-5 years ago, we often can see this sea slug, but now we sometimes can see it.

At second dive, we meet a school of Greater Amberjack.
There are so many fishes in Kushimoto area now!!

The ground temperature is getting warm.
So, the diving season will be coming soon!!!

We went to diving in the morning.
Because the wind was getting heavier and heavier.

In face, the wind become strong afternoon.
I was relieved that  we can finish diving by noon.

On the other hands, underwater condition is still nice.
The visibility was 15m and the water temperature was 20 degree.

Today, we saw various of macro underwater creatures.

This frog fish  disappeared on Sunday, but she come back again.
I wonder where she was going.

Recently, there are many shrimps in our dive site.

Have you ever seen it??
It looks like Orangutan, isn’t it?
So we call it “Orangutan crab”.

And then, we often saw this crab as well.

The body color is so beautiful!!
There are many different color types.

In this season, we are able to see the  protecting eggs behavior of some fishes.

Father Jawfish usually protect their eggs in their mouth.
If you observe their mouth cautiously, you may be able to see many eggs in the mouth.

Others, there are so many kinds of underwater creatures now.
You must enjoy diving in Kushimoto in this term.

I want many overseas people to come to Kushimoto for diving!!

We can dive in a whole day.

The  whether forecast said there is high waves and strong wind today.
But, there isn’t high waves today. So, we can dive in a whole day(^^)

The water temperature is getting warmer at the morning but  finally it is changes the same temperature as yesterday…

At the morning, we could see Japanese angel shark.

The shark is usually seen in winter season.
It looks like stingray, doesn’t it??

Due to the meandering of the Kuroshio Current, the underwater environment is also changing slightly.
The fish lives in east area few years ago, but it is seen in Kushimoto area recently.

Also, there is cute eel in bay side area.

The color of the mouth is beautiful(^^)
So, I like this fish!!!

It will be sunny tomorrow. And the sea condition become calm as well.
I guess we can dive easier  than today.
